Beatrice "Bea" (Gravina) Allen

Beatrice "Bea" Allen, 95, of Seneca Falls, passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Saturday, October 28th, 2023. Family and friends will gather on Friday, November 3rd from 4 - 7 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Patrick's Church (Parish Office), 35 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.

Bea was born in Seneca Falls, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Marapese) Gravina. She graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1946 and was united in marriage with the late Wilbert Allen at St. Patrick's Church in 1951. Many in Seneca Falls know Bea for her time spent at St. Patrick's School where she spent the majority of her career as a second-grade teacher. She retired after being with the school for 37 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting bells, and reading; she especially enjoyed Danielle Steel's work. For many years she volunteered at Seneca Nursing Home where she would visit with residents, and also delivered Meals on Wheels to local seniors.

Bea is survived by her children, Mark Allen and Robin Patak; grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Spencer, Lee; great-grandchildren, Sloane and Perry; brother, Jack (Rita) Gravina; sister, Paula Brownell; several nieces and nephews and extended family, including David (Mary Jane) Carissimi who helped care for Bea. In addition to her parents and husband, Bea was predeceased by her sister, Josie Carissimi and son-in-law, Timothy Patak.
