LouAnn (Herman) Dyson

LouAnn Dyson, 65, of Seneca Falls, passed away on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3rd from 11AM - 1PM with a funeral service to immediately follow at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas, at Restvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Huntington Living Center, 369 E. Main St., Waterloo, NY 13165.

LouAnn was born in Waterloo, NY, the oldest daughter of Leo and Patsy (Reynolds) Herman. She attended local schools and graduated from Romulus Central School. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Dyson, on October 12th, 1974. Unfortunately, their time together was cut much too short as Tom passed away on September 7th, 2002.

For years LouAnn worked in retail management. She worked for Ames Dept. store before it's closing, and then went on to manage many of the area's Express Marts for more than 20 years. When her daughter, Rachelle, was old enough to join 4H, LouAnn became a group leader and stayed involved for over 20 years. She was known for her active social life and being the life of the party no matter where she went. She loved to travel, play horseshoes, bowl, and watch NASCAR, always rooting for #3 "The Man in Black", Dale Earnhardt. Above all else though she loved spending time with her family and dear friends.

LouAnn is survived by her daughter, Rachelle (Gil) Santana; grandchildren; Thomas, Maximus, Mercedes; mother, Patsy Herman; sisters, JoAnn (Aaron) Hefferon, Donna (Bill Staples) Stone, Bonnie (Roland Nageldinger) Herman, as well as several nephews and nieces and extended family. In addition to her husband Tom, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas Dyson; father, Leo Herman; and brother, Jimmy Herman.
