Waterloo - Agnes McLenithen, 99, of Church St., Waterloo, NY, died Monday (November 11, 2013) at Geneva Living Center South, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may attend Agnes's Memorial Service on Thursday (November 21, 2013) at 11 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY with Pastor Naomi Sorrwar-Randall officiating. There will be no prior calling hours. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Agnes was born in the Town of Galen, NY on September 23, 1914 the daughter of the late Frank & Ethel Williams Dinsmore. She had resided in Waterloo for 31 years moving from Carmel, NY. She was a graduate of Clyde High School, Clyde, NY and Oswego State College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She was a retired elementary school teacher from the Lakeland Schools of Shrub Oak, NY and had previously taught in Long Lake, NY. Agnes was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Waterloo, NY, the Seneca County & New York State Retired Teachers Association, Sincerity Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Seneca Falls, NY, St. Paul's Episcopal Church Guild, Waterloo, NY., the altar flower chair of her church, and chair of the Tuesday Morning Bible Study group at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Agnes was named the 2010 "Honored Woman of St. Paul's Episcopal Church" for the Central New York Episcopal Diocese. She was the oldest living member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In high school, Agnes was an outstanding player of tennis, swimming, & basketball. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. She is survived by: 1 brother - George (Mary Helen) Dinsmore - Waterloo, NY 2 sisters - Ellen Dinsmore - Seneca Falls, NY Joanne Dapolito - Clyde, NY Several Nieces & Nephews 1 sister-in-law - Charmion Dinsmore - Seneca Falls, NY Her good friends, Jackie Skinner, Phyllis Dunlap & her many friends from St. Paul's Episcopal Church In addition to her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Paul McLenithen who died December 7, 1989, 1 sister, Margaret Wood & her husband John Wood, 1 brother, John Dinsmore, & 1 brother-in-law, Joseph Dapolito.
