Aimee J. Buckley, age 57, of Seneca Falls, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, August 14th, 2025. A time for visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21st from 4 – 7PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Her funeral mass will take place on Friday, August 22nd at 11AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls.
Aimee was born in Geneva, NY, where she grew up, and graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1986. She attended Oswego State University, where she received her BS in early childhood education. Aimee had a passion for reading and started her career at Even Start Family Literacy program, a federally funded program aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and literacy by providing integrated education and support services to families in all 50 states. For many years she ran the Even Start Family Literacy Program in Geneva, and later at their program in Wayne County. Part of her passion was teaching children but also ensuring educators were trained to teach literacy and well versed in how important literacy was for children’s development. The last several years of her career were spent connecting with local children and educators as a substitute teacher, most notably with Frank Knight and Cady Stanton Elementary Schools in Seneca Falls.
Outside of her career, Aimee loved to spend time with her family. Her sons, Noah and Mason, were the focus of her life. All her family has memories of the quality time she gave but especially her very beloved sister Denise. Among her close connections were many fellow educators, lifelong college friends, a group that even after all these years still made it a point to get together every year. Aimee would never want to miss an opportunity to soak up the sunshine or relax on a beach with any of the people she loved.
Aimee is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Ronald Buckley Jr., who she was united in marriage with on December 22, 2003; two sons, Noah and Mason Buckley; father, Joseph (Christine Dressing) Solomon; mother, Linda Davis; siblings, Brian (Rhonda) Solomon, Denise (Pat) Cardinale, Wendy (Pat) Coleman, Matt (Cathy) Dressing, Violet Arndt; father-in-law, Ronald (Sandie) Buckley; mother-in-law, Cheryl Buckley; sister in law, Karen (Dan) Pollino; nieces and nephews, Brenn (Gina), Bryce (Meri), Nathan (Tara), Remi, Hannah (Jake), Cassidy, Kelsey, Heather (Andrew), Danny; two great-nephews, Douglas and Elias; as well as extended family and many friends.
