Alberta (Saracino) DeSarro

Seneca Falls - Alberta DeSarro, 92, of Ferguson Rd., Dryden, NY and formerly of Seneca Falls, died Thursday (May 8, 2014) at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Monday (May 19) from 12 Noon to 1 PM followed by a funeral service at 1 PM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Alberta was born in Rochester, NY on August 9, 1921 the daughter of the late Peter & Mary Patello Saracino. Alberta was a hairdresser in Seneca Falls for many years and also had worked in the office of her husband's business, DeSarro Contractors. She had resided most of her life in Seneca Falls and was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She had been active over the years in her church and in St. Patrick's School. Alberta also had been active in the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Teas that have taken place over the years and had been active in the S.M.S. She was very dedicated to the care she gave her mom and her family over the years. Alberta possessed many abilities and talents that positively impacted the lives of those she loved and cared for. She was wise beyond her years. Her balance of intelligence and emotions guided her family throughout their lives. She was giving, loving, selfless and strong. Her commitments and convictions to all that she did and took on were exemplary to all. Family and friends are blessed to have had her in their lives. And let's also remember what an excellent cook she was. She is survived by: 4 daughters - Patricia (Rick) Stevenson - Australia Nancy DeSarro - Dryden, NY Lois (Bill) Fitzpatrick - Texas Denise (Chris) Gomber - Dryden, NY 4 grandchildren - Casey Fitzpatrick, Kallie (Mike) Fitzpatrick, Cody (Jefi) Stevenson, Neige (Simon) Manwaring 5 great grandchildren - Dylan, Jake, Thomas, Oscar, & Ruby 1 sister - Helen Havelin - Seneca Falls, NY 3 brothers - Frank (Rose) Saracino - Seneca Falls, NY Mario (Mary) Saracino - Seneca Falls, NY Peter (Linda) Saracino - Waterloo, NY Several nieces & nephews In addition to her parents, Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Louis G. DeSarro who died November 13, 1993, 1 sister, Vinnie Christiano, & 1 brother, Louis Saracino.
