Alex M. "Mike" Barberi

Waterloo - Alex M. Barberi, 61 of Douglas Dr., Waterloo, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Thursday (April 26, 2018) at his residence due to complications from lung cancer. Family and friends may attend his graveside service on Friday (May 4) at 11:30 AM at St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours. Alex was born in Waterloo, NY on October 1, 1956 the son of the late Alexander & Beatrice Zierk Barberi. He resided most of his adult life in Waterloo. Alex attended elementary school in Victor, NY, graduated from Mynderse Academy of Seneca Falls in 1974 & was a graduate of Eisenhower College, Seneca Falls, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts. He had been a highly awarded automobile sales representative in the Finger Lakes for many years. He had been employed by VanBortle Subaru, Peter Koch Chrysler, & Lebrun Motors. He was a past member of the Waterloo Historical Society and the Waterloo Library Association. Alex was currently a member of the Eisenhower Alumni Association and the Town of Waterloo Zoning Board of Appeals. Alex was known as "Uncle Mike" to his immediate family members. He enjoyed spending time with those closest to him. He also enjoyed his weekly meal at Connie's Diner and having historically-based conversations. He is survived by: His sister - Ellen (Todd) Reed - Farmington, NY 1 niece - Susan Reed - Farmington, NY 1 nephew - Jonathan (Jessica) Reed - Farmington, NY 2 great grand nieces - Azaria Reed-Watkins & Amelia Reed Several cousins He was predeceased by his father, Alexander Barberi who died in 1977 and his mother, Beatrice Barberi who died in 2002.
