Alice Casey Reynolds, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Geneva General Hospital. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, May 2nd at 10 AM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to a charity of one's choice.
Alice was born December 30th, 1928, in the old Seneca Falls Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Jennie (Patterson) Casey. She started her early education in Seneca Falls at St. Patrick's School and then at Mynderse Academy, graduating from there in 1946. She then received her B.A. from the NYS College for Teachers in Albany in 1950. She started classes at Syracuse University, where she continued on to earn her master's degree.
Alice taught at Oneida Junior High School; at first full time and then she was a substitute teacher. After moving back to Seneca Falls with her family, she taught 6th grade English at the local intermediate school, and then later PSEN classes in grades 3 and 4. Alice had always wanted to be involved in teaching. After retirement, Alice and Larry enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed visiting Cayuga Lake and having McDonald's breakfasts.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Larry, after spending 61 years together. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Morgan E. Reynolds; sister, Jane Casey Villemyer, of Oregon; son-in-law, David Anderson; and brother-in-law, Bob Colway.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anderson; son, Stephen (Sharon) Reynolds; two granddaughters, Nichole (Joseph Hanlin) Reynolds and Jenni (Caleb) Mein; four great-grandchildren, Lavinia, Cambria, Berkeley, Wesley; five nieces; three nephews; as well as many cousins and friends.
