Seneca Falls: Anthony J. Giardino, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026 at home with family by his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 6 at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment to follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery.
Anthony was born on January 2, 1934, in Geneva, NY to the late Dominic and Mary (Morabito) Giardino and was blessed to have six wonderful siblings. After graduating from Geneva High School, he voluntarily enrolled in the US Army where he served in Panama during the Korean war. After returning home, he went to work as a machinist, eventually working at Goulds Pumps for 35 years and rarely missing a day. After retiring he worked part-time for Seneca County helping transport people in need and received two awards for community service. He volunteered for the local SMS Lodge for many years and was acting president for two years while also receiving another community service award.
Anthony treasured time spent with his two sons, who revered him and thought he was the “Best Dad Ever”. He also loved spending time with his parents, many aunts and uncles, his brothers and sisters, and their families, which he visited frequently. He had many friends in the local community and served on several volunteer organizations. He loved hunting and fishing and was also a guide for a local hunting lodge for several years.
He was blessed with three grandchildren which gave him his happiest times in his later years. “Poppy” was beloved and enjoyed spoiling them with toys and games and vacations like Niagara Falls, Canada’s Wonderland, Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Cocoa Beach, Ocean City, and others.
Anthony is survived by his son Mark, precious grandchildren Deanna and Jonathan, brother Dominic (Donna) Giardino, Sister-in-Law Anna Marie Giardino, and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years Patricia, son Stephen, grandson Anthony and brothers Frank, Pat, Joseph (Father Andrew, OFM), and sisters Catherine and Marie (Combs).
