Barbara K. (Bacher) Hoke, 78, of Canandaigua, passed away at F.F. Thompson Hospital. In keeping with Barb's wishes, there are no public services.
Barb was born in Campbell, NY, one of 8 children, to Lawrence and Marjorie (Hathaway) Bacher. She grew up on the family farm on Bluff Point, where she learned the value of self sufficiency and the importance of family. She spent many years early in life living in Penn Yan before moving for a brief time to Phelps, before settling in Canandaigua, where she's spent the last 25 years. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Over the years she had taken many pottery classes and was an excellent cook. Her family has many fond memories of her in the kitchen making her delicious cheesecake. Barb worked for Penn Yan School District as a bus driver for many years.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Teresa Paunetto; sons, Gregory (Elisha) Hoke and Leslie Hoke; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mona Walker and Linda Tones; brother, John (Phyllis) Bacher; several nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her brother, Larry Bacher; sisters; Paula Crofoot, Erma Corcoran, and Freda Slocum; and longtime companion of over 25 years, Steve Morlang Sr., who passed earlier this year.
