Barbara (Bostwick) Quinn

Barbara Bostwick Quinn passed peacefully on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Barbara was born on September 13th, 1954, in Rochester, NY to Robert and Germaine Bostwick and spent her formative years in Caledonia, NY, ultimately graduating from Cal-Mum High School. From a young age, Barbara had a passion for education, and she harnessed this passion into a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Fredonia, a Master’s of Science in Education from Elmira College and completed some doctoral work at University of Rochester for Education Leadership and Administration. Barbara would spend her career teaching throughout the Finger Lakes, beginning as an Art teacher before moving to administration. Barbara ultimately became the elementary principal of Romulus Central School for the remainder of her career.

Barbara had a strong focus on students and grant writing throughout her career. Upon Barbara’s retirement, she never gave up teaching and continued to grade NYS tests, support the NYS Education Department, and participate in Women’s Leadership forums. Barbara was also a long-time member of Delta Kappa Gamma along with performing leadership functions throughout her life.

Barbara was a devout Catholic and would spend her retirement years assisting young people in Faith Formation at Holy Family Church in Auburn, NY, through First Communion, Penance, Sunday School and Confirmation. Barbara’s passion outside of work was family and music. She proudly saw The Rolling Stones tour every decade from the 1970s to 2020s and especially enjoyed seeing Bonnie Raitt with her sisters all around the country. Barbara enjoyed an extensive network of friends and family throughout the country who she loved dearly.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Matthew (Jessica), Michael and Brian Quinn; sisters, Janet, Joan and Nancy (Jim Card) Bostwick; and nieces, Katie and Lizzie Hogan. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Germaine Bostwick; husband, Mark Quinn and brother-in-law, Tom Hogan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1st at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Seneca Falls. Her Celebration of Life will follow at 12 NOON at the Seneca Falls Country Club. Donations to Delta Kappa Gamma along with Catholic Charities may be given in lieu of flowers.
