Seneca Falls - Bruce R. Knapp Sr., 84, of Powell Place, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Saturday (September 24, 2016). Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Rogers Knapp, as well as his wife of 58 years, Mary Hartman Knapp. He is survived by daughter, Sonna (Donald) LaPenna of Syracuse; son, Bruce (Julie) Knapp Jr. of Victor, NY; grandchildren, Joseph LaPenna, Alyssa, Jenna, & Sarah Knapp; his twin sister, Barbara Eggleston of Seneca Falls; several nieces and nephews, and his very dear friend, Lucy Liberatore of Seneca Falls. Bruce was born in Auburn, NY on October 31, 1931. He was a lifelong resident of Seneca Falls, where he worked as a pattern maker at Gould's Pumps before retiring in 1994. He served in the New York State National Guard for more than 20 years. He was a devoted parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was an acolyte and former Vestry member. Bruce also belonged to the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992. He was a previous treasurer for the all-sports and wrestling booster clubs at Mynderse Academy and was inducted into the Mynderse Academy Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday (September 29) from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday (September 30) at 11 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 27 Fall St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
