Carmen Ceo of Tequesta Florida passed away June 23, 2014 at 90 years of age. Born December 12, 1923 in Seneca Falls, New York he was a professional golfer, consultant on golf, and member of the PGA for over 63 years. He was a graduate of Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he completed a two year course of study in Fine Turf Management and Golf Course Design. He was associated with many golf clubs throughout his career in the profession. From 1969-1972 he was the first club professional and Director of Club Operations for Turtle Creek Country Club, Tequesta, FL. From 1972-1975 he was Director of Club Operations at Mariner Sands Country Club, Stuart, FL. From 1975-1985 he was Managing Director of Frenchman's Creek Country Club, Juno Beach, FL, and from 1985-1989 he became membership chairman at Old Marsh Golf Club. After becoming senior advisor on Golf Club Development for Indian River Club in Vero Beach he became head of his own company consulting on golf club operations, marketing, membership sales and golf facilities for resort development for companies in France, Thailand, Italy, and Germany. He started his career in golf taking over as an assistant professional at the Seneca Falls Country Club after the early death of George McLean, the professional at Seneca Falls. He later became the head professional at Auburn Golf and Country Club, Auburn NY. While in New York he became President of the New York Section of the PGA, and part of the National PGA of America Public Relations. Loved and missed by all who knew him he is predeceased by his parents Rocco and Mary; his sister Carmela Nastri; cousins Nancy Simiele; Carl Gravina and Mary Mulpagano; his wife Merry An Ceo and granddaughter Sydney Ceo-Coolidge. He is survived by his brother Vito (92 yrs. Old), his three children Nancy, Rocco Ceo (Maria Nardi), Mari-An Ceo (Craig Pinckes), his granddaughter Stella Lucia Ceo, numerous nieces and nephews, and the many friends he has gained over the years. He will especially miss his recent golf buddies: Dave Keon, Carl Bradley, John Sedalis, Barry Jones, Ryan Garcia, Jed Murray and most importantly his best friend and nephew, David Nastri. There will be a short graveside service for family and friends on Saturday June 28, 2014 at 4:00 pm, St Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
