Charina M. Botindari, of Tyre Rd., passed at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. In keeping with Charina’s wishes, a private graveside ceremony was held at Springbrook Cemetery, where she was laid to rest next to her late husband, Mario. In memory, donations may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter at beverlyanimalshelter.com.
Charina was born in Seneca Falls, daughter of the late Rayman and Catherine (Matkowski) Messecar. She was a graduate of Mynderse Academy, Class of 1970. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Auburn where she lived for 20 years. It was during this time that she found the love of her life, Mario “Mike” Botindari. The couple moved to Clyde in the mid 1990’s where they remained until Mike’s passing on June 16, 2003.
Charina was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, baking, especially pies, and fitting in some upholstery work when her schedule allowed. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially for the beagles she called her own over the years. However, of all the things she enjoyed the most, spending time with her family was at the top of the list.
Charina is survived by her sister, Yvonne (Frederick) Sponable; brother, David (Nancy) Messecar; aunt, Mona Messecar; special nephews who were like her sons, Timmy (Christina Greer) Bush, David and Dana Botindari; special niece, Devon (Mike) Sinicropi; 3 great-nephews, Timothy (Darnae), Eric, and Kyle (Adrienne) Bush; 1 great-great niece; 3 great-great nephews; as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
