Charles F. Koopman, 71, of Seneca Falls, passed at his home, on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterloo, where he will be laid to rest with his parents.

Chuck was born in Waterloo, son of the late James and Ruth (House) Koopman. He grew up in Waterloo, graduating from Waterloo High School, Class of 1973. Chuck was known best for his involvement in the family business, Koopman and Sons Plumbing and Heating, which he co-owned with his brother, James Jr. In addition to the family business, Chuck had also driven limousine for a number of years for Finger Lakes Limousine and Coach in Geneva, and Picture Perfect Limousine in Victor. He loved the uniqueness of the job, and over the years he got to meet many celebrities while driving.

In his younger years, Chuck was always very active. He played basketball in high school and loved racing his modified stock cars as a young man. He was well known in the area for his skills on the track and off the track. Outside of racing, Chuck loved to hunt and fish, and as he got older he enjoyed golfing, especially with his brother and father at Silver Creek Golf Course. When his kids were young, Chuck got involved in their sports; coaching both their Little League and youth basketball teams. He also loved to take his family camping, and his kids have fond memories of him taking them ice fishing. Chuck’s favorite sports team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a longtime diehard fan.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Sonora, Maranda (Adam Ridley), and Deena Koopman; sons, Matthew (Sarah) and Nicholas Koopman; three adored granddaughters, Hazel, Paisley, and Anastasia; brother, James J. (Joanne) Koopman, Jr.; a nephew and two nieces; several cousins and extended family; and the mother of his children, Amy Koopman. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by a granddaughter, Maeve.
