Cora Lee (Pitrella) Tanzarello
April 22, 1925 — December 23, 2020
Seneca Falls: Passed away in her sleep during the early morning hours on Wednesday December 23rd 2020. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 29th from 5-6 PM with a funeral service to follow at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment Saint Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
Born in Seneca Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Buchanan) Pitrella. Cora worked at several different jobs during her life. Early in her marriage to Joseph she received her chauffeur's license and drove taxicab in Seneca Falls during the day while Joseph drove at night. She also worked for the local Sylvania factory in Seneca Falls and worked for the Seneca Falls Chamber of Commerce as a secretary.
She enjoyed playing bocce ball, oil painting and was a member of the Auburn Public Theater. Additionally Cora loved to travel. She traveled all across the United States and Europe, making many special trips with family and friends. Although Cora called Seneca Falls home most of her life, she also lived in Tampa Florida for 10 years until she returned to Seneca Falls to be closer to her aging parents.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Joseph Tanzarello; brothers James and Frank Pitrella; and sister Rose DePasquale. Survived by her sons, Joseph (Marsha Greene) Tanzarello and Gary Tanzarello, nieces Susan Noble and Joanne Wood, as well as nephew James Pitrella.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Beverly Animal Shelter, Waterloo.
