Daniel S. Kotyk

Daniel S. Kotyk, long time resident of Seneca Falls, and most recently of Romulus, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, on Saturday, September 2, 2023 with his former sister-in-law, Cheryl (Kotyk) Duck at his side. In keeping with Daniel's wishes, there are no public services.

Daniel was born in Auburn, NY, the son of the late John and Helen (Kudla) Kotyk. He grew up locally and graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1970. He had a long and dedicated career with the International Union of Bricklayers as a cement mason. Dan had a passion in life for sports, both playing and as a spectator. He loved football and basketball but his favorite was baseball. He was an avid collector who enjoyed not only finding that rare collectable but also making the deal to make it his own. No matter where Dan went in life, he always made connections with those he met. He had many friends, but few were as dedicated as his lifelong friends, Jeff Compo and Timothy "Rocky" Thompson, Sr.

Dan is survived by his nieces, Lisa Marie and Jenna Elizabeth Kotyk, as well his extended family and friends. He was particularly close with his former sister-in-law, Cheryl (Kotyk) Duck and her son, Dale Pemberton, who so graciously opened their home to care for him during his final months. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, John Kotyk.
