Seneca Falls - David E. Peterson, 58 of Stevenson Road, Town of Tyre, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday (April 4, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Family and friends may attend David's Memorial Service on Saturday (April 15) at 2 PM at Calvary Chapel, 2291 Route 89, Seneca Falls, NY with Pastor Scott VanKirk officiating. An "Off-Site Staff Meeting" to celebrate his life will immediately follow at the American Legion at 7 E. Williams St. in Waterloo, NY. There will be no prior calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations for a trust to be set up for David's grandchildren made payable to Pamela Gilmore at PO Box 11, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. David was born in West Covina, California on January 3, 1959, the son of the late Harold Peterson & Gladys (La Shure) Nugent. He had resided most of his life in the Seneca Falls/Waterloo area. He had been employed by Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls and was a former member of USWA Local 3298. Dave was a member of the Pocahontas Lodge #211 F. & A. M., Seneca Falls, the Sons of the American Legion, Kirk-Casey Post #366, Seneca Falls, and the American Legion Riders. Dave loved riding his Harley, bicycling, thrift shopping, fishing, hunting, a good campfire, helping his friends and loved ones, and most of all, spending time with his granddaughters. Dave always said, "I make friends wherever I go," and he certainly did. He is survived by: 2 daughters - Pamela (Benjamin) Gilmore - Seneca Falls, NY Patricia (Christopher Ringquist) Jerge - Waterloo, NY 3 grandchildren - Mei Li, Sadiya Ringquist, & Sabine Gilmore 1 sister - Elaine (Timothy) Benjamin - Waterloo, NY 2 brothers - Charles (Mary) Peterson - Bliss, NY Thomas Peterson - Ithaca, NY 2 step-sons - Jason (Kristen Sciandra) Dafeldecker - Buffalo, NY Matthew "Little Matty" (Kellie Barbato) Dafeldecker - Seneca Falls, NY and other special people in his life.
