Dolores (Fitzgerald) R.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Dolores Rita Fitzgerald, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Syracuse, NY.
Dolores was born April 3, 1928 in Buffalo, NY to Maurice & Loretta McHugh Fitzgerald. She received Bachelor Degrees in both Chemistry & Biology from MercyHurst University in Erie, PA. She retired after several years of operating her own business, ABC Medical Lab to enjoy her family & her hobbies.

Dolores had a talent for Arts & Crafts. She would knit hats for newborns & donate them to local hospitals. She also knitted tons of mittens in which she donated to local churches. Every family member has their own pair of mittens in their favorite color made with love by Dolores. Her crafts of holiday magnets and mug rugs were popular at craft fairs as well as by family. Any Sunday during football season you could find Dolores watching the Buffalo Bills as she was a dedicated fan.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents, her brother, James Fitzgerald & his wife Mary Jane and her brother, John J. Fitzgerald. She is survived by Joyce Secaur Fitzgerald, her sister-in-law, of Rochester, NY. She is also survived by 11 nieces & 3 nephews: Beth(Dennis) Civitella, Kathy(Dave) Kuhn, Eileen(CJ) Olenik, Dan(Barbara) Fitzgerald, Ann(Chris) Mecleary, Marilyn(Scott) Long, Jim Fitzgerald all of Pennsylvania, Kim(Jon) Mannino of Torretta Italy, Patty(Vinnie) Rafferty, Audrey(Dave) Thomas, Maureen Shaw(Rich Bingham), Tina DeChick(Brian Passarello), Mark(Elissa) DeChick and Tammi(Nathan) Peone all of New York State. She also leaves several Great & Great Great nieces & nephews.
