Waterloo-Ballston Spa - Doreen J. Christopher, 77 formerly of Waterloo, NY, passed away Thursday (June 5, 2014) with her family by her side. Friends and family may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, on Saturday, (June 14, 2014) from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with a funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Leah Ntuala, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, NY, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to Maplewood Manor Activity Fund, 149 Ballston Ave., Ballston Spa, NY 12020. Doreen was born in Batavia, NY on April 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Grant and Marie (Gould) LaBour. She was employed with Seneca County as Emergency Management Director until her retirement in the mid 90's. Doreen was an active member in the Kiwanis Club where she was a past Secretary. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls and a former member of her church's Session Board. She was a former Literacy Volunteer Teacher, and a Hospice Volunteer. Doreen enjoyed luncheons and other outings with her friends and the ladies of Indian Hills. She adored her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Maplewood Manor who gave excellent care to Doreen during her stay there.
