Seneca Falls- Douglas A. Barg, 62, of Adams St., Seneca Falls, N.Y., passed away Thursday (March 31, 2016) at Highland Hospital, Rochester, N.Y., with his loving family by his side. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Friday (April 8) from 4 to 7 p.m. Doug's memorial service will be Saturday (April 9) at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 183 N. Main St., Canandaigua, N.Y., with Reverend David Hefling, Pastor, officiating. Doug was born November 1, 1953 in St. Croix Falls, WI, the son of Donald & Evelyn (Martz) Barg. Doug received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts from the State University of New York at Oswego, and relocated to Seneca Falls with his wife, Deborah (Dupree) Barg shortly after their marriage. Doug was a Technology and Industrial Arts teacher at Waterloo Central School District, where he taught for over 35 years. Doug and his wife were integral members of the team that transformed the Waterloo Middle School into a New York State and National School of Character in 2008. Following his retirement, Doug enjoyed working at Ferrara Lumber. His interests and passions included fishing, traveling with his wife and brother-in-law, being at Lorton Lake and spending time with his grandchildren. He gave his time away freely, often to those in need, and his desire to help others was rivaled only by his love for a big cup of black coffee. Doug is survived by: His wife and best friend of 40 years, Deborah Barg of Seneca Falls, whom he married on August 16, 1975 Two sons: Michael (Amy) Barg of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Gregory (Stephanie) Barg of Canandaigua, N.Y. One daughter: Kelley Barg of Waterloo, N.Y. Seven grandchildren: Jackson, Tucker, Maxwell, Audrey, Ellery, Madelyn, and Kymani Barg. His mother: Evelyn Barg of Liverpool, N.Y. One sister: Gale (Michael) Dom of Kingman, AZ. Many very special friends and relatives Doug was predeceased by his father, Donald Barg.
