Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls: On Friday, February 10th, 2023, Elaine Lafler passed into Eternity surrounded by her family at Geneva General Hospital. A private service was held at the convenience of her family and Elaine was laid to rest in Restvale Cemetery.

Elaine was born December 22nd, 1938, to Bernard and Anita (Baccari) Mahannah. She called Auburn home until she married Laverne Lafler on February 15th, 1958, and together they made Seneca Falls their home.

Family meant everything to Elaine. She always put her family first and she was always there for them showing her love in many ways. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was known for her Italian dishes where her homemade sauce was what set her food apart. She loved to share stories of her Italian heritage and traditions.

Elaine loved flowers, often filling her rooms with fresh cut flowers she grew in the backyard. She loved to share them as well with family and friends when she would stop in for a visit.

Elaine loved to travel, always ready to go and never missing an opportunity to get in the car or on a bus for an adventure. She made friends easily and everywhere she went. She met up with her friends weekly to play bocce in a league and in the off season they took turns hosting cards or dominoes.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Laverne; sons, John (Mary Ann) Patterson, Chuck Lafler, James (Tamara) Lafler; daughters, Beth (Steve) Gravitte and Jennifer (Brian) Alexander; grandchildren, John (Nicole), Dennis (Maria), Eric, Kristin, Danielle (Tim), Jared, Andrew (Amanda), Charles (Allie), Jacob, Sara (Colin), Matthew; 1 great-grandchild; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Bernard Mahannah; sisters, Diane McNabb, and Rebecca Mahannah; sister-in-law, Ann Lafler; niece, Lisa (Tom) Smith; nephew, Richard (Tara) Lafler; as well as extended family and friends.
