Ella was born in Elgin, ND, daughter of the late Rudy and Emma (Friesz) Uttke and grew up there on the family farm. On November 10th, 1946, she married Walter Adler and shortly thereafter the couple moved to Waterloo, NY, where they shared 37 years together until Walter's passing in 1984. While Walter worked away from the house, Ella worked around the home and raised the family. She loved to care for her children, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and sewing. Later in life, her biggest passion became her grandchildren and their children. A true caretaker at heart, she found great joy in making sure those closest to her were taken care of. She also had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was dedicated to her church.
Ella is survived by her sons, Randy (Anne Marie) and Lyle (Tina Marie) Adler; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly), Jonathan (Heather), Kristin, Brian (Kristyn), Timothy (Katie), Kevin (Chelsea), Stephanie (Andy), Tracy (Bryan); 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers, Victor (Ethel) and Harold Uttke; sisters, Bernice Fuchs and Lucille (Charles) Bender, all of ND; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Hoven; granddaughter, Dawn Rosa; sister-in-law, Charlotte Uttke; brother-in-law, Clayton Fuchs; as well as several nieces and nephews and in-laws that went before her.
