Seneca Falls - Gerald R. Mahoney, 87 of Marsh Road, Town of Tyre, NY, passed away on Sunday (April 22, 2018) at Matthew House, Auburn, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Friday (April 27) from 4 PM to 7 PM. Gerald's Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday (April 28) at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Webster, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matthew House (Comfort Care Home), 43 Metcalf Dr., Auburn, NY 13021 The Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors for Jerry on (April 27) at 7 PM at the funeral home. Jerry was born in Rochester, NY on May 23, 1930 the son of the late Francis X. & Dorothy Specht Mahoney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had resided in the Town of Tyre since 1965, moving from Macedon, NY. He was retired from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls where he was a machinist and Waterloo Container of Seneca Falls, retiring at the age of 80. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, the Kirk-Casey Post #366, American Legion of Seneca Falls, and a former member of the Magee Fire Department in the Town of Tyre, NY. Jerry loved his time fishing, gardening, & carpentry. He is survived by: His wife, Patricia Rearson Mahoney of the Town of Tyre, NY 4 daughters - Meaghan (Paul) Cologgi - Weedsport, NY Amanda (Bradley) Young - Seneca Falls, NY Molly Thurston - Seneca Falls, NY Maggie Mahoney - Waterloo, NY 1 son - Justin (Larraine) Mahoney - Town of Tyre, NY 8 grandchildren - Emily Young, Rachel, Amy, & Matthew Mahoney, Ryan Thurston, Jim Cologgi, Alica Lannon, & Krystal (Giovanni) Cologgi 5 great grandchildren - Aiden & Alivia Lannon, Armani Woolfolk, Gianna & Aria Cologgi In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his son, Toby Mahoney who died January 12, 1990, his brother, Donald Mahoney, and his son-in-law, Rick Thurston who died February 6, 2018.
