Gerardo “Gerry” Manzari, 95, longtime resident of Seneca Falls, passed at Geneva General Hospital on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025, with his family at his side. All services for Gerry will be private, held at the convenience of his family. He will be laid to rest in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society at Donate.Cancer.org.

Gerry was born in Casamasimma, Italy, the son of the late Daniele and Porzia (Amleto) Manzari. When he was 25, he married Anna Radogna in their hometown in Italy. The couple had 3 children and worked the land to provide for the best for their family. In 1974, at the age of 44, the promise of a new life in America inspired Gerry to emigrate himself and his family to Seneca Falls. Not long after settling into town, Gerry began working for Goulds Pumps. He worked and retired from Goulds after 25 years, where he had worked in the stockroom. Known in the area for doing landscaping and lawn mowing, even up until a few years ago, it was work that Gerry liked because it kept him moving and active.

Gerry was known around town for several things, but most notable was his beaming smile, gentle demeanor, and his immense love for his family. In his free time, Gerry tended to his vast vegetable garden. To see his garden was to see a man who had an excellent work ethic and had great pride in his Italian heritage. Never a weed to be found because he picked them by hand, and no chemicals were ever allowed near his garden. Additionally, the grapes that Gerry grew went to make the homemade wine that he so loved.

Gerry is survived by his bride of 69 years, Anna; daughter, Porzia (Curtis) Quinn; sons, Tony D. (Anna) and Vinnie (Bridget) Manzari; 6 beloved grandchildren, Anna Quinn, Jerry Manzari, Anthony Manzari, Anna (John Bulawa) Manzari, Concetta Durso, Nina Manzari; 2 adored great-grandchildren, JJ and Amore Bulawa; sister, Maria Pastore; brother, Vic (Angie) Manzari; sister-in-law, Lina Manzari; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family in the US and in Italy. Gerry was predeceased by his brothers, Giovanni and Francesco Manzari; and grandson, Curtis Quinn.
