Gino Porretta

Seneca Falls - Gino Porretta, 88, of Mynderse St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday (August 7, 2018) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY. Family and friends may attend Gino's Memorial Mass on Monday (August 13) at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. There will be no prior calling hours. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Francis/St. Clare Parish, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Gino was born in Italy on January 16, 1930 the son of the late Vittorio & Carlotta Lecurvi Porretta. He had resided most of his life in Seneca Falls and was retired from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls. In addition, Gino had worked for Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo, was a school crossing guard, and had worked for the Seneca Falls village & town in Restvale Cemetery. Gino enjoyed the times he spent hunting and in his vegetable garden but most of all he loved the times with his grandchildren. He is survived by: His daughter - Maria (Bernie) Smura - Seneca Falls, NY His son - Vittorio "Vic" (Vincenta) Porretta - Seneca Falls, NY 5 grandchildren - Catherine (Scott) Root, Paul Smura, Emily, Mary, & Gino Porretta His great granddaughter - Juliette Root 1 sister - Elisa Canale - Italy 2 brothers - John (Lea) Porretta - Seneca Falls, NY Sergio (Iole) Porretta - Rome, Italy His sister-in-law - Maria Teresa (Anello) Campagna - Seneca Falls, NY Several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Gino was predeceased by his wife, Maria Brigida Porretta who died March 23, 1998 & 2 brothers of Italy, Pompelio & Franco Porretta Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls, NY.
