Seneca Falls- Helen Havelin, 86, of Johnston St., Seneca Falls, N.Y., passed away Thursday (March 31, 2016) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, N.Y. In accordance to Helen's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Helen's memorial Mass on Thursday (April 7) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial, at St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions, if desired, may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River Road, Waterloo, N.Y. Helen was born in Castellaneta, Italy, on July 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Peter & Immaculatta Petella Saracino, where they soon immigrated to Seneca Falls. Helen was employed at Guaranteed Parts, and retired from Gould's Pumps where she worked in the mailroom for over 20 years. Helen will be remembered for her love of shopping for clothing and jewelry, "shop to you drop, Helen!" Family and friends would often find her watching QVC, HSN, or religious channels on television. Helen in survived by: One daughter: Mary Lee (Gordon) Hurlburt, Jr., of Seneca Falls One son: George (Anne) Havelin, Jr., of Seneca Falls Five grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Zachary, and Elizabeth Havelin, and Gordon Hurlburt One brother: Frank (Rose) Saracino, of Seneca Falls Two sisters-in-law: Mary Saracino, of Phelps, N.Y. and Linda Saracino, of Waterloo, N.Y. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her brothers: Peter, Mario, and Louis Saracino, and two sisters: Alberta DeSarro and Vincenza Christiano.
