Ivo Pocai

Seneca Falls - Ivo Pocai, 85 of Balsley Road, Seneca Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday (May 24, 2018) surrounded by his family at Pathway Home, Seneca Falls. A celebration of Ivo's life will be held at a later date. There will be no prior calling hours. Ivo was born in Italy on December 5, 1932 the son of the late Italo & Noemi Bertino Pocai. He moved to the United States with his family at the young age of 15. He enlisted in the Navy to serve during the Korean War. He returned from the war to work at Seneca Knitting Mill in Seneca Falls. He, also, had worked at the former Charcoal Pit as everyone's favorite bartender. He then opened the Romulus Hotel until he "retired" in 1996, but we couldn't keep a good man down. He enjoyed his early morning visits with his great friends at the Deluxe Restaurant in Geneva. Ivo's passion was golf, euchre, & manhattans. Ivo is survived by: His wife, Donna Goodman Pocai of Seneca Falls, whom he married on August 7, 1988. 1 son - Michael (Shirley) Pocai - Waterloo, NY 3 daughters - Tricia (John Nucci) Sutliffe - Seneca Falls, NY Mellisa (Dennis) Verkey - Seneca Falls, NY Sheryl (Bob) Lubanski - North Carolina 1 step daughter - Victoria (Ralph) Wise - Farmington, NY His grandchildren - Ashley (Nick) Bass, Alexis Pocai, Jennifer (Joe) Christensen, Jeffrey (Samantha) Sutliffe, Dylan, Derik, Devin, & MacKenzie Verkey, Robert, Andrew, & Ethan Lubanski. Several great grandchildren 1 brother - Salvano (Janet) Pocai - Syracuse, NY 1 sister - Joanne (Howard) Bruse - Liverpool, NY Several nieces and nephews He also leaves behind his amazing friends though many at heart but his dearest are: Paul (Helen) Helstrom, Nick (Carol) Gigliotti, & Charlie (Linda) Lee In addition to his parents, Ivo was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Pocai & his son-in-law, Mark Sutliffe Many "tanks" to the family at the Pathway Home in Seneca Falls for their gracious care.
