Jeremy King, 48, of Seneca Falls, passed after a brief illness, on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, at Wilmot Cancer Center in Rochester, NY. A time for family and friends to gather will be held on Friday, March 20th, from 4:30-6:30 PM, with a funeral service to follow, at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Youth sports were important to Jeremy, so donations in his memory may be directed to a youth sports program of your choice.
Jeremy was born in Waterloo, NY, son of Kevin King and Mary (Bowman) Ridley. He grew up in the Seneca Falls area, and graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1996. After high school he worked for CNS as a steamfitter for a few years followed by 10+ years with Xylem at their Auburn facility. Forced to take some time off due to a work injury, Jeremy next worked for JEL Lawn and Landscape for 9 years, and most recently had started working with the village of Phelps Department of Public Works this past November.
Jeremy was a true Jack of all trades. He worked with his hands and excelled at so much. Whether it was auto repair, maintenance work, welding, construction, or any other job that was hands on, he was proficient at it all.
Growing up, he loved motocross racing, and loved racing pretty much anything that had a motor in it. He was also a fan of late 90’s/early 2000’s hard rock, with bands like Godsmack, Metallica, Drowning Pool, and Shinedown being some of his favorites. He was also a diehard NY Yankees fan and NY Giants Fan. When his boys were younger, he got his sons into motocross, fishing, and helped them with their youth sports interests. He coached Little League for a number of years and also helped run the chains during Mynderse Football games. A true outdoorsman, Jeremy liked hunting and fishing, and at one point had picked up taxidermy as a hobby.
Jeremy is survived by his father, Kevin King; mother, Mary Ridley; stepfather, Scott Ridley; sons, Jared King, Ethan King, and Scott King; brother, Billy (Heidi) Poormon; sister, Heather (Daryl) Hameatman; girlfriend, Samantha Wilcox; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and many friends.
