Seneca Falls - Joan D. Saunders, 79, formerly of Spruce Lane, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday (December 16, 2017) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Friday (December 29, 2017) from 4 PM to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (December 30) at 11 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 27 Fall St., Seneca Falls, NY with Reverend Nelson Gaetz, Rector, officiating. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 27 Fall St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or Beverly Animal Shelter, River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 Joan was born in Seneca Falls, NY on November 2, 1938 the daughter of the late James & Catharine Gute High. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls and had been a librarian at the former Eisenhower College of Seneca Falls. After her employment at Eisenhower College, she went to work and later retired from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seneca Falls where she had served as a Eucharist Minister. She was a member and past president of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 Auxiliary and the Kirk-Casey American Legion Post #366 Auxiliary, Seneca Falls. She is survived by; 3 sons - Fred (Sheri) Saunders - Savannah, NY Gary Saunders - Florida Darryl (Linda) Saunders - Florida Her grandchildren - Nathan, Michael, Michelle, Gabrielle, Regina, Christine, & Karl Saunders 2 sisters - Mary Scott - Town of Fayette, NY Catherine Shoemaker - Rochester, NY Her special nephew - Steven Scott and Family.
