Seneca Falls: John Sinicropi, who lived a healthy and active life at 98, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. John is survived by his devoted wife, Vincenza; son, Patrick; and several nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by an infant son, Frankie, and sister, Paula Lucisani.
John was born in Sant' Alessio in Aspromonte, Italy, the only son of the late Pasquale and Rosa (Priolo) Sinicropi. It was after WW II when John was in his early 20's that he immigrated to the US. On February 18th, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Vincenza Carotozzolo, a blessed union of nearly 70 years.
John was the pillar and guardian of his immediate and extended family. He always welcomed family and friends to his home with a shot of cognac or Italian expresso and children were welcomed with a large smile and open arms. Anyone who knew John gained immediate admiration of his strength, kindness, and compassion for life. John was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and his willingness to go above and beyond for anybody who needed a helping hand. John had many hobbies, including vegetable gardening, wine making and playing a competitive game of bocce.
John worked as a General Foreman for many years at Bero Construction in Waterloo, retiring in 1987. He was also a 71-year member of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local 103, Geneva, NY. Additionally, he was a member of the SMS in Seneca Falls and the Sons of Italy in Geneva.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Platzer for his loving and compassionate care of John.
