Waterloo - John P. "Sliver" Coughlin, 63, of Hackensack, NJ, formerly of Waterloo, NY, died, unexpectedly, Monday (September 16, 2013) at Hackensack Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Monday (September 23) from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 24) at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas Mull. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation, P.O. Box 50798, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32240. John was born in Waterloo, NY on June 6, 1950 the son of the late John L. & Betty Post Coughlin. He had been residing in New Jersey for over 20 years. He was a horse trainer owning and operating Coughlin's Stables in East Rutherford, NJ. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack, NJ and is a former member of both the Standardbred Owners Association of New York and the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey. John is survived by; His loving companion - Suzanne Malloy of Hackensack, NJ 5 sisters - Carole (Robert) Kingston - Canandaigua, NY Kathleen Troutman - Waterloo, NY Patricia (Scott) Reed - Waterloo, NY Luann Coughlin - Waterloo, NY Christine (Gabriel) Cohn - E.
