It is with great sadness, the family of Joseph Caratozzolo announce his passing on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. A time for family and friends to gather will be held on Sunday, February 22nd from 2 – 5 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 23rd at 11AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. He will join his late wife, JoAnn, in eternal rest in St. Columbkille Cemetery at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, Joe requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at StJude.org.

Joe was born in Seneca Falls, son of Frank and Constance “Connie” (Spano) Caratozzolo Jr. He graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1975, and was a lifelong resident of Seneca Falls. On March 5th, 1977, he and the former JoAnn Dombrowski were married at St. Patrick’s Church.

For several years, Joe operated Caratozzolo Plumbing and Heating in Seneca Falls. A man who had a passion for work and his customers, he held a very strong work ethic. His time outside of serving his customers was spent doing things he enjoyed. He liked to travel to Florida and Mississippi, spend time in the kitchen cooking - especially greens and beans, and he’d recently started a vegetable garden. In addition, Joe liked to keep a meticulous lawn, and when time allowed, he watched MMA on TV. He also had a musical ear and was able to play songs on the guitar just by hearing a song a few times.

Almost every day Joe would get together with a group of guys who were his lifelong friends. Either coffee in the morning or an evening dinner on the weekend, Joe enjoyed getting together with the same group of guys he had known for most of his life. It was a ritual he always looked forward to.

Joe was a longtime member of the SMS in Seneca Falls, and had previously served as president of the club.

Joe is survived by his mother, Constance Caratozzolo; sons, Anthony (Stephanie), Joseph (Yuet) Jr., and Patrick Caratozzolo; six grandchildren, Cameron, Kurt, Collin, Valentina, Gianna, Joseph III; brothers, Frank (Donna), Paul (Beth), and Carmen (Gloria) Caratozzolo; fiancé, Lori Alvaro; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. In addition to his late wife, Joe was predeceased by his father, and sister, Mary Ann Archer.
