A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29th at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery. Joyce was born in Innster, MI, the daughter of the late John and Bernice (Smith) Gall. She graduated from Butler High School in Butler, PA. She married Edward Zmuda on December 27th, 1954 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Butler, PA. They have remained side by side for over 68 years. The pair moved to Seneca Falls in 1968 and have called the area home ever since. Joyce embraced being a wife and mother and taking care of her family. She always made sure her home was in order and there was hot food on the table. She was an excellent cook who loved to cook and bake not only for her family, but anybody who might stop by the house. For years she and Ed were members at Red Jacket Yacht Club, and her boys have fond memories growing up and spending their summers having picnics and family parties at Cayuga Lake State Park. Joyce and Ed also would spend a few months each winter in North Fort Meyers, FL; they were able to do this for over 23 years, and they loved it immensely. Joyce was also an avid bridge player. She was a lifelong player and more often than not, she would walk away from a game the victor. Joyce was also a member of St. Patrick's Church, and she had a strong faith in God. Joyce's love for her family started with her own sons and has since spread to the joy she felt when she got to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Edward I. Zmuda; sons, Edward J. and David (fiancé, Susan Fogle) Zmuda; grandchildren, Tyla, EJ, Nicholas, Katelyn, great-grandchildren, Karter, Marley, Cooper. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Leigh "Wanda" Dillaman.
