Jung Sug PureBright Jang

January 13, 1960 — December 15, 2020

Seneca Falls: Passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Strong Memorial Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 10:30 AM from New Life Assembly of God Church in Lyons and streamed from the church YouTube account (NewLifeLyons); anyone interested may attend in celebration of his life.

Jung Sug, or "JJ," was born in Seoul, South Korea, to Kwi Hyo Jang and Nam Soon You. JJ loved to read books to find answers to his curious mind. He was compassionate towards others to listen or practice the literal meaning of "taking the shirt off his back to the needy." He graduated from Chung-Ang University with a BS in Food Science in South Korea. He worked for the National food brand company, Haitai, as a researcher in developing soda beverages. JJ took an interest in the field of environment that in his mid 20's he came to the United States to further his studies at Rutgers University, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, where he received a Bachelor of Science. For many years, JJ worked for Lockheed Martin, contracted by US EPA located in Edison, NJ, to monitor air quality. JJ was a part of the team for New York City World Trade Center Emergency Response checking air samples during the tragedy of September 11, 2001 clean up.

In his mid 40's, he wanted to learn the holistic approach to healing the body. He moved to Seneca Falls to study at the New York Chiropractic College. In 2014, he became a member of Atomy to help bring the health of body, mind, emotion, and spirituality to himself and others. A man of many hidden talents, playing piano, drums, but most of all, with his strong faith, he loved to sing hymnals and spiritual songs, read the Bible, and most importantly, be home with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Julie; sons, Phillip, Joseph, and Isaac of Seneca Falls and an older brother, sister, and a younger sister, all living in Korea.
