Seneca Falls - Karen A. (Buck) Darling, 69, of Troy St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Wednesday (March 4, 2015) at the Matthew House, Auburn, NY after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Saturday (March 7) from 11 AM to 1 PM followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 1 PM with Reverend Sue Hadley, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Seneca Falls, NY, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matthew House (Hospice), 43 Metcalf Drive, Auburn, NY 13201 or to Beverly Animal Shelter, River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Karen's home health aide, Rachael & to the staff at Matthew House for their loving care of Karen. Karen was born in Seneca Falls, NY on June 1, 1945 the daughter of the late Stanley & Lorraine Steadman Buck. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls and was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, Canandaigua, NY. After her retirement she went to work for the Seneca Falls Central School System as a bus monitor. She was a former volunteer E.M.T. for the Hopewell Fire Department and was a member of the Rumseyville Sportsmen's Club of Seneca Falls. Karen loved to read but most of all she enjoyed her 3 cats. She is survived by: 2 sisters - Sandra (Richard) DeVine - Seneca Falls, NY Judy (Paul) Daino - Seneca Falls, NY 1 brother - Eugene (Dawn) Buck - Chesapeake, VA.
