Seneca Falls - Kenneth W. Laursen, 69, of Stevenson St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday (April 15, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Sunday (April 23) from 1 PM to 4 PM. Committal services, with military honors, will be held on Monday (April 24) at 10 AM at Sampson Veterans Cemetery, Route 96A, Romulus, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165. Ken was born in Geneva, NY on June 1, 1947 the son of the late Walter & Norma Jensen Laursen. He had resided most of his adult life in the Seneca Falls area. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and had worked as a truck driver for Agway in Geneva, NY. Ken enjoyed camping & fishing as well as NASCAR, being a big fan of Dale Earnhardt. He also was a big Pittsburg Steelers fan and known for being a big jokester. He loved animal especially his cats. His Danish Heritage made him a "Proud Viking". He is survived by: His wife, Valerie Hansen Laursen of Seneca Falls whom he married on July 5, 1980 3 daughters - Shannon Laursen - Geneva, NY Miranda (Jef) Collier - Jordan, NY Jaclyn Laursen - Seneca Falls, NY 2 grandchildren - Mason Russ & Myles Atkinson 2 sisters - Carol Sineck - Florida Vickie (Dan) Cramer - Florida 1 brother - William Laursen - Florida Several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by 1 brother, Bobby Laursen.
