Lawrence W. "Pete" Peterson

Lawrence W. "Pete" Peterson, 92, of Seneca Falls, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on December 13, 2022 in his home. A calling hour will be from 11AM until 12 Noon followed by a brief funeral service on Monday, December 19th at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard Street, Seneca Falls. Burial will be immediately following at Restvale Cemetery with full military honors. After burial, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Seneca Falls Elks, 2221 West Bayard Street, Seneca Falls, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 or to a charity of one's choice.

Pete was born in Seneca Falls, April 15, 1930 to the late Howard and Cornelia (Ward) Peterson and was a life resident of Seneca Falls. He served his county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Pete worked at GTE Sylvania for 40 years and after retiring worked at the NYS Chiropractic College as part of the grounds crew.

Pete was a Life Member of the Seneca Falls VFW #1323, Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992, and the Seneca Falls Kirk Casey American Legion Post #366. Pete enjoyed watching the Yankees and Syracuse sports, going to the Elks Club, American Legion and many other fraternal organizations for special events.

Pete was married to his wife, Joyce G. Peterson for 71 years until her passing on May 5th, 2022.

Surviving are his two sons, Bob (Kitty) and Jim (LeeAnn) Peterson; grandchildren, Becky (Nate) Spano, Marie (Kim) Peterson, Josh (Christine) Peterson, Jeremy (Tara) Peterson, Christopher Plate; many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as a brother-in-law, Carl Post.

In addition to his parents and beloved Joyce, Pete was also predeceased by his In-laws, Romaine and Genevieve Platten; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donnie and Connie Peterson; a niece, Karen Peterson; nephew, Chuckie Peterson, and sister-in-law, Eleanor Post.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Pete's caregivers; Terry, Jenn, Julia, Jessica, Hannah, Holly, Kim and Linda for their exceptional care that allowed him to be in the comfort of his own home.
