Seneca Falls - Lloyd R. Cooley, 88 of Route 89, Seneca Falls, NY, died Wednesday (January 13, 2016) at his residence. Family and friends may attend Lloyd's Memorial Service on Monday (January 18, 2016) at 1 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY with Reverend Jeffrey Haugaard, Rector, officiating. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY at the convenience of the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, Newark Plaza, 800 W. Miller St., Newark, NY 14513. Lloyd was born in Fayette, NY on August 31, 1927 the son of the late George & Minetta Hosford Cooley. He was a life resident of the Seneca Falls area and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from the former Phillips-GTE of Seneca Falls where he was a production supervisor. Lloyd was a lifetime member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992, and a former member of the Kirk-Casey Post #366 American Legion of Seneca Falls. He and his late wife, Joan, loved to travel in their motor home having visited all 50 states. He, also, enjoyed tinkering in the shop he had at his home. He is survived by: 1 daughter - Marleen Hubbs - Waterloo, NY 2 sons - Richard (Susan) Cooley - Jenison, Michigan Steven (Jody D'Aloisio) Cooley - Seneca Falls, NY 6 grandchildren - Kim (Dan Rodas) Hubbs, Liz (Ed) Parkhurst, Allen (Jenny Leasure) Cooley, Sarah (Shawn) Buessing, Emily Cooley, & Michael Drennan 6 great grandchildren 1 sister - Gertrude Jones - Seneca Falls, NY 1 brother - James (Peg) Cooley - Waterloo, NY Several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his wife, Joan Platten Cooley who died September 3, 2003, his infant son, David Allen Cooley, 1 sister, Mabel Andrews, 3 brothers, Lewis, Donald, & Harold Cooley & the dogs he loved, Blue & Smokey.
