Louis A. Ferrara Sr.

Seneca Falls - Louis A. Ferrara Sr., 90, of W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday (December 31, 2017) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends are invited to attend Lou's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (January 5, 2018) at 1:30 PM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Francis/St. Clare Parish, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Lou was born in Seneca Falls on August 29, 1927 the son of the late Samuel & Josephine Anacone Ferrara. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 3rd Division, 15th Infantry in Germany and the 88th Infantry Division in Italy. He was a retired pipe fitter for local union 267 of Ithaca, NY. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and a member of the Lt. Cyrus Garnsey Post #1323 VFW, Seneca Falls, a 3rd Degree member of Seneca Falls Knights of Columbus, Council #222 and a 4th Degree, Faithful Navigator. He was a current member of the Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club. Lou is survived by: 1 daughter - Josephine "Jo" ( Anthony) Petroccia - Seneca Falls, NY 2 sons - Louis Ferrara Jr. - Seneca Falls, NY Neil (Miriam) Ferrara - Cooper City, FL. Several grandchildren, especially loved by: Erica (Miles) Sinicropi, Christine (Brian) Neilson, & Kaycie Ferrara. Several great grandchildren, most affectionally, Anthony Marco Sinicropi, Ada Lyn Sinicropi, & Clara Josephine Neilson. His faithful companion, Rascal, his dog. Several nieces, nephews, & many close friends In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Durso Ferrara who died December 3, 2013, 4 sisters, Rose Marinella, Amelia Costello, Antoinette Spagnola, & Anna Ferrara, & 4 brothers, Anthony, Michael, Matthew, & Neil Ferrara.
