Lucille C. Cook, a lifelong resident of Seneca Falls and winter resident of Florida, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Clermont, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family.
Lucille was born and raised in Seneca Falls, the youngest of seven children born to the late Samuel and Carrie (Magavero) Agnello. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Cook, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past September.
Lucille’s professional life was a testament to her versatility and sharp intellect. She began her career in the office at Guaranteed Parts before serving as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Ken Cook’s Texaco. A creative soul, she also owned and operated a local ceramic shop, where she shared her talents by teaching classes to the community. Later, Lucille transitioned into healthcare finance, working as an accountant at Seneca Falls Hospital and in Budget and Reimbursement at Geneva General Hospital. She eventually brought her administrative expertise back to her faith community, serving as the Business and Cemetery Manager at St. Patrick’s Church in Seneca Falls.
Her commitment to Seneca Falls extended well beyond her professional roles. Lucille was deeply involved in local governance and civic life, serving on the Seneca Falls Town Board and as a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Rumseyville Sportsmans Club. Even after her retirement in Florida, she remained active, serving on the Board of Directors at Emerald Lakes Co-Op.
Lucille’s heart for service was most evident in her volunteer work. She was a familiar face at the St. Patrick and SMS annual festivals, where she helped with the finances, and dedicated several years to the Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP), specifically their annual coat drive and Christmas project, ensuring local families were cared for during the holidays.
Lucille is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Cook; daughters, Debbie (George) Hall and Carrie (Greg) Fisher; six grandchildren: Rachael, Kenny, Gregory, Emily, Johnathan, and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Iris, whom she loved more than life itself. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, MaryAnn Agnello.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Kenneth; parents, Sam and Carrie Agnello; three brothers, Charlie Agnello, Sam Agnello Jr., and Mario (Mary) Agnello; three sisters, Gussie (Sam) Pacelli, Josie Agnello, and Laurie (Augie) Orlando.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls with interment at St. Columbkille Cemetery at a future date and time to be announced. Donations in her memory may be directed to St. Patricks Church (Parish Office), 35 Center Street, Waterloo, NY 13165 or to Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP).
