Larry B. McMillen and his wife, Lynne A. (Leonard) McMillen, of Seneca Falls, passed this year after a beloved union of over 50 years. Larry passed on January 13th of this year, while Lynne passed on August 19th. Visitation for the couple will be on Thursday, September 23rd from 6-8 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Funeral Mass for the pair will be held and also livestreamed on Friday, September 24th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Larry was born in Seneca Falls, NY on March 3, 1938 to the late Beryl and Alice (Matteson) McMillen. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, Syracuse University, and went on to serve in the US Navy. Upon returning from his time overseas, Larry worked for Gould's Pumps for over 30 years. After his time at Gould's, he became a Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Counselor, first at Clifton Springs Hospital, and then at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus. Being a man of faith, Larry was a member of St. Francis & St. Clare Parish in Waterloo. As his sons were growing up, Larry made it a point to be a part of their lives. Whether it was through coaching or umpiring, he was involved in his sons' sports teams and activities. He was also a member of Seneca Elks Lodge 992, in Seneca Falls.
Lynne was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Laura (Dundas) Leonard. Lynne graduated from Mynderse Academy and furthered her education at Auburn Community College earning a Nursing degree. Lynne worked for many years as an LPN Nurse at the former Taylor Brown Hospital in Waterloo. Lynne enjoyed most spending time with her family and friends.
They are survived by their sons, Philip (Kathleen), Thomas, Richard (Mary Lou), Douglas (Francine Giovannini); five grandchildren, Kelly, Kevin, Kristen, Kyle (Morgan), Mackenzie; great-granddaughter, Ava Marie; Lynne by her sister, Mary Lopez; Larry by his brothers, Philip (Betty) and James, as well as many extended family and friends. In addition to their parents, Lynne is predeceased by an infant brother, and Larry by his step-mother, Eva.
