Marie E. Bellomo

Marie E. Bellomo, 78, of Rochester, passed at her home on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 after a brief illness. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, April 14th from 2 PM - 5 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 15th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. She will be laid to rest in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Marie was born in Seneca Falls, the daughter of the late Daniel and Lena (Scalmassi) Bellomo. Aspiring to be a teacher, she moved to Rochester in 1969 and shortly after began her teaching career with Penfield Central School as a Special Education Teacher. She had a special love for her students and enjoyed seeing them succeed. After more than 30 years as an educator she retired. Throughout her life, Marie enjoyed many hobbies and interests, her favorites being cooking, reading, gardening, playing golf, and especially visiting with her many dear friends.

Marie is survived by her sisters, Linda Moshier of CT and Elizabeth (Gerald) Levesque of FL; nephew, Mark (Jessica) Bellomo; niece, Nicole (Shukri) Emazi of FL; as well as extended family and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William Bellomo and brother-in-law, Royce Moshier.
