Mario was born in Seneca Falls, NY on November 24, 1922 the son of the late Peter & Mary Patello Saracino. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific and then resided most of his life in Seneca Falls, NY. He was the owner and head baker of the former Seneca Baking Company of Seneca Falls. Though he supplied many local supermarkets with Italian bread, rolls & pizza crusts, most people will remember Seneca Baking Company for the many varieties of donuts he made for them on Sunday mornings. Through the bakery, Mario was well known for the many opportunities for those who worked for him. His legacy for the smell, taste and enjoyment of his breads lives on. In his retirement years, Mario had also been a baker at the former Super Duper on East Bayard St, Seneca Falls, NY. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and had been a member of the Rumseyville Sportsman's Club, also of Seneca Falls. Mario had been a drummer in the Apple Knockers Drum & Bugle Corps of Geneva, NY. He loved to hunt, fish, bowl & golf and was skilled enough to achieve the honor of a hole-in-one at Silver Creek Golf Course in Seneca Falls. He loved to teach his nephews how to fish and the art of making flies for fly-fishing. He enjoyed having coffee in the mornings with his friends at Penny's Place. Mario was a very kind person, often giving rides to his neighbors so they could attend Sunday mass. The family wishes to thank Geneva General Hospital staff for their kind support of Mario and the family members who stood by him in his final hours, Mary, Lucian & Elsa, Carol & Don, Sally & Marty and Kathy.
