Mark Bender, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, with family at his side. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday, April 25th. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery. At the family's request, please, no flowers. Mark was predeceased by his parents and brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence, Jr. and Bernadette Bender. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Mary Ann (VanCleef) Bender, three nieces, Katherine (Felipe) Leite, Elizabeth (Craig) Rightmier, and Kristen (Scott) Donnelly, nephew L.J. (Joanne) Bender, and seven great nieces and nephews.
Mark was born in Williamsport, PA on July 2, 1946, the second of three sons born to Lawrence and Catherine (Keller) Bender. He moved to Seneca Falls with his family in the early 1960s and attended Mynderse Academy. In his younger years, Mark worked at various jobs and was known as a loyal and dependable employee. Mark was a very gregarious guy, who enjoyed time with others. He loved being with his family and loved talking about his nieces and nephew of whom he was very proud. Despite his limitations, the world is a better place because Mark lived in it. He will be greatly missed.
