Mary E. Healy, 70, of Seneca Falls, passed away at her home, on Thursday, May 28th, 2026. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13th, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. In honor of Mary’s lifelong dedication to nursing, the Finger Lakes Nurses Honor Guard will perform their Nightengale Ceremony at the conclusion of her Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Mary was born in 1955 into a military family in Landstuhl, Germany, daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Boyle) Healy Sr. The family moved stateside to Seneca Falls when Mary was just a toddler. She grew up in Seneca Falls, attended Mynderse Academy, and graduated with the Class of 1973. Taking only the summer off, in the Fall of ‘73, Mary followed her passion of becoming a nurse and furthered her education at the Willard State Hospital School of Nursing. In 1976, she received her nursing degree, and from there went out to serve her community as a registered nurse. She worked for many of the local hospitals over the years, however most of her nursing career was in the Emergency Department at Geneva General Hospital. For 30 years she was a staple at Geneva General where she offered her expertise and compassion to those in need. In 2017 she decided to step back and retire.

In her younger years, Mary loved to spend time out on the lake. She loved to spend time with her friends and never missed an opportunity to share a smile and conversation. She also adored her family and was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and pet owner to many dogs over the years. She enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips with her sister Eileen across the world, visiting Hawaii, France, Italy, England and Australia. At home, Mary liked to make sure her yard was well kept, her home well decorated, and she liked to tend to her garden. Those that knew Mary best will miss her for her friendship and her ability to make others feel at ease.

Mary is survived by her brother, John Healy; sister, Christine McGuane; niece, Molly McGuane Bauter and her husband, Lee; nephew, Patrick McGuane; great niece, Maureen Bauter; and many dear friends. Mary was predeceased by her father, Edward Sr. (2014); mother, Helen (2000); brothers, Patrick (1982) and Edward Jr. (2023); sisters, Eileen (2013) and Maureen (2011).
