Waterloo - Mary L. Ilacqua, 89 of W. Elisha St., Waterloo, NY, died Wednesday (May 27, 2015) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may attend Mary's Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (June 2, 2015) at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, NY with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be to St. Mary's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Mary was born in Waterloo, NY on October 20, 1925 the daughter of the late Carmelo & Natalie Cusimano Ilacqua. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's School in Waterloo. She also attended and graduated from Waterloo High School where she was a drum majorette. She worked at Seneca County Motor Vehicles Department for a few years and later was employed at Sylvania and Philips-GTE for many years until her retirement. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, NY where she had taught religious education for years. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club with Philips-GTE. She had traveled some for her job with Sylvania & Philips-GTE. She enjoyed playing cards, golf & watching tennis matches on TV. She is survived by: 1 sister - Sarah Speno - Waterloo, NY 2 nephews - Reverend Michael McNally - Ft. Pierce, Florida Stephen Speno - Waterloo, NY 2 nieces - Judy (Michael) Austin - Nashville, TN. Natalie (William) Kessler - Nashville, TN. Several Grand Nieces and Nephews In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Ilacqua who died November 17, 2005, her sister, Frances I. McNally who died February 28, 2015, and her brother-in-law, Carmen Speno who died February 16, 2011. Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY.
