Seneca Falls - Mary M. Norman PhD., 78, of S. Park St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Tuesday (June 2, 2015) at her residence. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, on Saturday (June 13) from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. If desired, contributions may be made to the Seneca Falls Historical Society, 55 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or the National Women's Hall of Fame, 76 Fall St., Seneca Falls, NY 13149. Mary was born in Auburn, NY on January 10, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Anthony & Zita Burke Norman. She had been residing in Seneca Falls since 1996 returning to her hometown from Middletown, NY. She was a graduate of LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling & Psychology from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and her PhD in International Relations from Penn State University. Mary was retired from Orange Community College in Middletown, NY where she had served as its president. She, also, had been president of Allegany Community College in Pittsburgh, PA. and had been a Drug & Alcohol Councilor for 7 years. Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and the Seneca Falls Kiwanis Club, the National Women's Hall of Fame, the Women's Rights National Park & the Seneca Falls Historical Society. Mary was an avid reader over the years.
