Seneca Falls - Mary Jane Poffenberger, 75, formerly of Johnston St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Thursday (May 15, 2014) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo, NY. Family and friends may attend a Memorial Service for Mary Jane on Tuesday (May 20) at 10 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, Trinity Lanes, Seneca Falls, with Reverend Polly Casey, Interim Rector, officiating. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Mary Jane was born in Seneca Falls, NY on June 9, 1938 the daughter of the late Paul & Carrie Bickel Amidon. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls had been employed by the former Johnson Home of Seneca Falls. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seneca Falls. Mary Jane was an avid reader and loved puzzles and cards. She enjoyed music of all varieties. She is survived by: 2 daughters - Terry (Tom) Penird - Michigan Kelly (Don) Darling - Waterloo, NY 1 son - Todd (Karen) Poffenberger - Geneva, NY 8 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren 3 sisters - Pauline Avery - Waterloo, NY Vivian (Tom) Smith - Seneca Falls, NY Sandra Wood - Williamson, NY 1 brother - Roy Amidon - Seneca Falls, NY Several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by 1 sister, Genevieve Jones and 2 brothers, William Turner & Paul Amidon.
