Mary F. Thorpe-Jensen, 81, of Waterloo and previously of Seneca Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd from 5 - 7 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 23rd at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery. Mary was born in Seneca Falls, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Kelley) Clary. She graduated from Mynderse Academy in 1960 and furthered her education by taking secretarial classes. She was married to Charles E. Thorpe Jr., in 1961 and the two were married for 34 years before Charles' passing in 1995. She had worked as a Secretary at Seneca Knitting Mill from 1987 until their closing in 1999 before taking employment as a Keyboard Specialist with Willard Drug Treatment Center from 1999 until 2010 when she retired. She married George Jensen on December 31st, 2009.
Mary loved her family very deeply and her world revolved around all of them. She was known for her baking and cooking expertise as well as her love for animals. She was a very loving nurturing person who was very lighthearted and was known for pulling the occasional prank. She loved to crochet; especially making gifts for her loved ones. Mary brought a lot of joy to those around her, and she will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her husband, George; children, Jacqueline (Clarke Parker) Webber, Charles Thorpe III, Mary Elizabeth Thorpe, Melissa (James) Nicolini, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Thorpe, Jennifer (John Litzenberger) Thorpe, Lisa (Todd) Buckley; step-children, Alan (Angela) Jensen, Billiejo (Kreen) Fleming, Brian (Wilma) Jensen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Kathy) and William Clary; sisters, Cecelia (Robert) Cyrana, Kathleen (Robert) Hanlin, Jane (Frank) Lischak, Patricia (Joe Barilla) Avery. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mary was predeceased by a grandson, Colton Buckley.
