Seneca Falls - Matthew C. "Matt" Gallina, 93, of Troy St., Seneca Falls, NY, a Polio Survivor at age 3 months, died Friday (March 13, 2015) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Sunday (March 22, 2015) from 2 to 4 PM followed by a funeral service at 4 PM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, 401 Hackensack Ave., 9th Floor, Hackensack, NJ 07061. Matt was born in Seneca Falls, NY on September 3, 1921 the son of the late Mario & Elizabeth Bianchi Gallina. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls and was retired from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls where he was Tax Manager and held the office of Assistant Secretary and Treasure. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls. Matt was always a part of his community by serving on Seneca Falls Central School Board as member and past president, the Seneca Falls Library Board, the former Seneca Falls Hospital Board, the Seneca Falls Historical Society Board, the Seneca County United Way Board, & the Options for Independence Board. He was a member of the Syracuse chapter of the Tax Executive Institute of America and a founding member of the Seneca Falls Sports Booster Club. He is survived by: 3 daughters - Joanne (Michael) Thomas - Houston, Texas Dorothy (Gary) Royal - Tyngsboro, MA. Margaret "Peg" (John) Arnold - Seneca Falls, NY 1 son - Nicholas (Sue) Gallina - Northbridge, MA. 8 grandchildren - Krista (Frank) Zyskowski, Stephanie Wiston, Matthew (Michele) Gallina, Emily (Nicholas) Stander, Kimberly (Daniel) Kristensen, Amy & Colin Royal, Amanda (Matthew) Wilson 13 great grandchildren - Ella Zyskowski, Shelby & Jacob Carrigan, Dominic, Mia, & Lincoln Gallina, Caroline, Samuel, & Patrick Stander, Finn & Clayton Kristensen, Kaitlin & Makenzie Wilson. 2 brothers - Albert & Joseph Gallina - Seneca Falls, NY Several nieces & nephews In addition to his parents, Matt was predeceased by his wife, Emily Andrews Gallina who died July 9, 1993, 4 sisters, Carmela Penna, Natalie Varno, Phyllis Brown, & Elena Burrow, & 4 brothers, Philip, Anthony, Mario, & Mateo Gallina.
